Sakal solar power plant (Louga)

Works for the Sakal solar power plant: 20 MWp, 62,100 panels on 240 trackers across a 40-hectare site.

Sakal solar power plant (Louga)

This major project is located on a 40-hectare site. The plant has 62,100 solar panels mounted on 240 trackers that follow the sun, producing 25% more than fixed panels and supplying more stable electricity to the Senegalese grid. Installed capacity is 20 MWp for an authorised injection of 17 MWac, which optimises production and stabilises the power fed into the grid.

The plant also includes 354 Delta inverters, which convert the direct current from the panels into alternating current suitable for the grid. These decentralised inverters improve plant availability and reduce losses.

Thanks to its technical performance and excellent sunshine conditions, the Sakal plant is expected to generate 41,800 MWh of renewable electricity per year — the consumption of 200,000 households.
